The Delmarvalous Dolls will perform music from the 1940s at The Island Theater in Chincoteague, VA on Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 pm.

The show features songs from The Andrews Sisters as well as Big Band
Swing for dancing. Three of the area’s finest Jazz singers will combine
their remarkable talents for this show: Pam Miller, Rhonda Apple &
Ev Cook.

They’ll be accompanied by Wilmington native David Zipse on the piano.
He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.
David performed on the road for years, working with many bands, and was
musical director for more than 70 shows. He starred in “Gershwin, By
George” at the Riverfront Arts Center in Wilmington, where he won rave
reviews for his rousing rendition of “Rhapsody in Blue”.

Rounding out the band will be Dave Gladding on drums, and Jim Miller on trumpet.
It's time for my annual post on the "Greatest Jazz Festival in the World"! And I'll be there once again, holding court at The Cultured Pearl. New this year I'll be utilizing my pals "The Larks" for my backup band and they will also get plenty of space to showcase their own world class talents!

In addition, I'll be reprising my famed 1920s show where I'll be dressed in period regalia and we'll be doing all those cool dance steps from way back then.

Don't miss! This year's jazzfest was one of the best ever. Folks were singing and dancing in the aisles. I love Rehoboth Beach!

Thanks to my friend Cheryl Nemazie for taking the photos (below) with my camera Friday night. She's amazing! Rather than commissioning another lot we decided to create a brand new compilation CD (click the CD picture for a better look).

This project features my personal picks of both previously released as well as new unreleased material I've recorded over the past 15 years or so of my professional career. It's a nice mix of jazz, pop and Broadway. Many of the tracks were digitally remastered for this CD and the sound quality is great!

This one is not yet available for web purchase but if you're interested I'll have them with me at my shows, or send me an email to the address on the CD and I'll see about hooking you up. The show was broadcast by NPR as part on their annual New Year's Eve "Toast of the Nation" event. You can click here to listen to the entire concert (recommended!).

Afterward we went backstage and hung out with the fabulous musicians, including their arranger Don Sebeskey (genius). Jim also made acquaintances with Tony Kadleck. Then it was up to the Kennedy Center foyer to ring in the New Year with more music and champagne toasts.

*****

Pam Millerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17059048164663074048noreply@blogger.com
